Return to la Plage de Veillon

These photos are already a couple of weeks old: sorry for the delay. We had heard that the sea had broken through the huge dunes at Plage de Veillon. In fact this wasn't the case but the dunes themselves have shifted a couple of metres in the tremendous winds we had. The first photo shows the old footpath boundary submerged in sand!
.
The dunes become a sand spit where the River Payré meanders into the sea and its shape is constantly changing. Photos 2 & 3 are taken at the estuary mouth, looking across to the low cliffs - we still haven't adventured here but I would like to soon. In Photo 4 you can see the effect of the dual currents of the sea and the river making a mini sand cliff. I'm afraid I can't supply the sound effects as the sand 'plopped' into the water!
.
I love the last photo. The tide was coming in and this fisherman seemed more than happy to let the water wash around his chair as he awaited a catch. Quelle vie!
