Once again the council has been very busy preparing the main beach for the huge influx of tourists in July and August. There was a big sea-made lake just in front of the new collonade-style wall and two JCBs and a truck spent days moving sand along the beach to fill it.
The other day Matt phoned telling me to get to the front quickly as the dredger was back again like last year bringing sand from the beaches at Aiguillon where our sand seems to be drifting! It was amazing how near to the edge it was, showing how the beach shelves down more steeply than it used to. Yesterday we saw the dredger again but this time long distance from further around the bay where we had cycled to have a walk and coffee/citron pressé during Tine's afternoon break. All part of my attempt to lose a few lb/kg!
