Mosta

We had heard about the church at Mosta and, although it was fairly late in the afternoon, we decided to use our bus passes to do some more exploration. We weren't disappointed.

The Rotunda is such an impressive building...

...with an amazing dome.
This is a replica of the 500 kg bomb that fell through the dome in 1942 during morning mass.
Half way up the photo you can just make out the repaired section. Amazingly the bomb didn't detonate and no-one was hurt.

Back outside, the sun is going down leaving beautiful rich colours for us to enjoy.
