Round and about with Sacha

We normally look after Sacha on a Sunday (since Tine's operation, fetching him from the childminder after his afternoon nap). He's usually as good as gold. Usually!!

A favourite activity is the carousel on the town square...
...also convenient for a quick drink at the Starfish!
This was one of my creations. Hope you're impressed!
Grand-Oncle Loulou or Tonton Philippe, who's the influence?
Could be Mamie Martine...
...or Jimi Hendrix, of course.
No such worries on the beach near Marie's...
...or helping Mamie in the kitchen.
Just to show it's not all blue skies and sunshine here!

Last day with NAB

All good things come to an end and we had the morning together before Nadine & the children flew back to England.

Who can resist a smile like this? Lovely Betty, we're going to miss you!
Feeding time for Betty. What a perfect spot!

Alfie with his home-made fishing rod (the sea's the other way, youngster)!
Alfie with Papy...
...and farewell to cousin Sacha.

Easter

Simon had to leave early to go back to work in the UK, but Nadine, Alfie & Betty stayed on over the Easter weekend.

Alfie enjoys the egg hunt chez nous
The raised beds looked pretty empty in April!
Later we went round to Jean & Monique's for their big family Easter get-together
Betty was oblivious to all the excitement!
Lord & Lady Baie d'Aunis receiving their gifts!
Later Jean showed off his harmonica skills, Alfie carefully following his moves!
An awake Betty with Mamie Tine
Next day, Nadine's expression says it all: what to do when a baby's screaming! Poor Sacha isn't so sure either.

Kite flying, paper bag & donkeys

My morning walk promised a beautiful day if wrapped up well.

High tide at La Grière...
...and at 'our' beach.
Later back to the beach with the Hills. We wanted to fly the kite that we bought for Alfie (and Sacha) to play with.

He soon got the hang of it, the rest of us watching on
Meanwhile Betty's beautifully calm in the bath...
...and surprisingly happy in a paper bag.
We think she enjoyed the rustling!
Alfie is hiding behind Mamie at Les Floralies...
...while we try to ensure all the creatures get some tasty artichoke leaves from the garden.
To finish, one of my favourite photos of the three grandchildren,  Sacha & Alfie looking as pleased as punch, and Betty quite oblivious!

Betty's first visit to La Tranche

A week before the Hills' visit in March young Sacha on the beach with Papy

(wearing Bradford City bobble-cap, of course)
C'mon Alfie & Betty, this time next week you'll be here!
Meanwhile the mussel shells have great interest
They're here, and Sacha gets first cuddles with his cousin Betty
Matt's look is saying, "I can't stop her crying"...
...but big brother Alfie can!
What are these two rogues up to?
Made it to the end of the jetty...
...and to the old cannon.

On the way home, a stop-off at the playpark...

...and back for Sunday lunch.
