The forecast told us that we had two wet days ahead of us so we decided to buy rover rail tickets.

45 minutes later later here we are in Faro at one of the gates to the old town

First stop most days was for a coffee and this café didn’t disappoint…
…the original building dating from Roman times: the wall above…

Next stop, the cathedral (Igreja de Santa Maria)…
…with its extreme ornateness…
…and impressive organ.
Saving the best until last: they don’t get much more extreme than this…
…except for this, the Capela dos Ossos, an outdoor ‘chapel’ decorated with bones and skulls. Very freaky!
