Torre dos Clérigos & Forte de São Francisco Xavier do Queijo

From arriving in Porto we wanted to climb the tower of the amazing Igreja de Clérigos, seemingly the highest point in the city.

Well, at 76m you should get a good view! Luckily the bells didn't chime whilst we were there.
The cathedral
The railway station
A great view of the left bank where we ate a couple of days before
A birdseye view of the Lello bookshop
Later on, the tower by night
We decided to venture out of the main city, taking the bus to Matosinhos with its surf schools and cruise-liner terminal
The Fort of São Francisco do Queijo with a group of Senior Citizens playing cards!
The decked walkway all along the beautiful coastline
Sadly we were too late for our restaurant booking (don't worry, we found a replacement!) but later managed a final look at the Ponte Luis 1 by night...
...and a very strange sight: people queueing at a Nutella shop. We're still not very clear why!

Next day: tidying and packing up, then braving the metro back to the airport. What a wonderful time we had!
