Whilst stopping in Figeac for a few days we took ourselves off down Memory Lane to Lacapelle Marival where we camped with MN&P for several years. Nothing much has changed as I'm sure the children will agree from these photos. Tine is standing on the plot we usually stayed on, with a good view of the shower block where Phil once mistook a big toad in the corner for a pile of leaves, much to his horror!
.
Other memories include the day we two came back from visiting friends to find Nad & Phil paddling IN the tent, a stream flowing through it after a huge storm; the Belgian who snored so loudly that his tent seemed to inhale & exhale with him; rainy day lunches all seven of us in Minouche & André's caravan; the children learning 'showie' (don't know how it spell it!), a two-person patience we still play, from other youngsters on the site; Loulou helping out a camper who had a creature scurrying UNDER her ground-sheet; buying wonderful home-grown garden produce (our first encounter with pink-fur potatoes called 'rattes' in French) from an old couple who came round the site a couple of times a week; the tannoy announcing 'Madame Clegg est demandée à l'acceuil'; the swimming pool which wasn't quite as warm as it might have been; the TWO times we left the tent for Papy to take down after we'd left as the weather was so bad; cooking meals for 11 or so - happy days, I never was a camper!!
