Alfie's first week

As you can imagine we have made the most of visiting Nad, Si & Alfie from our temporary residence chez Jim & Les, 45 minutes away. On day two we arrived to an empty house (Alfie was having his first check up) but soon they returned closely followed by Gez and young Walter.

Alfie & Walter, future buddies fast asleep!
'I name him Alfie!'

Tonton Philippe was very excited to meet his new nephew...
...and check his guitar playing fingers!

Our new grandson

I'm sure you'll forgive my 4 weeks' absence when I tell you that we have been back in the UK having a great time, but with one particular event standing out above the rest: the birth of Alfie (Alfred William Hills) on 22nd October, weighing in at 9 lb 4 oz (4.2 kg). As you can imagine everyone is over the moon and Nad & Si have taken to parenthood like professionals. So, without further ado, let me introduce you to Alfie!

Just born!
Proud Si with his rock'n'roll son
Back home within hours of Alfie's birth!
Mamie has her first cuddle...
...closely followed by Papy.
Mamie Martine cuddling Walter, nearly 6 weeks old whilst Gez has her first cuddle with Alfie
Jodi & Mouse drove down from West Yorkshire to meet the new star

More tomorrow, but I promise not to let the boy take over the blog!

Flying high

Now what does every mother want for her 60th birthday present from her children? Why, a parachute jump of course! The weather was beautiful and Tine had a superb time. In fact she's only just coming down to earth (sorry)!!

There's an air of Top Gun about this one. Nervous: moi?!
That's Mike partnering Tine. She seems quite happy, eh?
About to jump.....
...and there they go!

Freefall until now, but......
...the opening of the parachute shows on Tine's face
There's La Tranche and chez nous is very visible when you know where to look!
Coucou, Tine's spotted us watching from the aerodrome
Meanwhile back on Terra Firma your faithful blogger is recording the event from a safer angle!

A VERY memorable occasion (warning, the video is compulsory viewing chez nous)!

A big thank you to Mike and his team for a wonderful experience that Tine will never forget. Also credit to his photographing skills when floating down to earth!
