Yet another mixed bag

Sorry, just one post from La Tranche before going on our travels again.

We arrived back from Brittany with full steam ahead on the skatepark...

...and a gate but no fence for the playpark (now fixed of course).
Marie's bar (aka Pedro's) now in situ...
...with volunteers helping to get the boring old portakabin into shape.
It's always great to have fun with Sacha again...
...who's a bit of a comedian as you can see!

We visited the new playpark in town

Mr Intrepid up for everything, of course...

...but this time with Imogen in tow...

...and her Papy Big Dave to help when needed!

Le calvaire monumental de Tronoan et les tulipes de la Torche

From Wikipedia: 'The Breton calvaire is distinguished from a simple crucifix cross by the inclusion of three-dimensional figures surrounding the crucifixion itself, typically representing Mary and the apostles of Jesus, though later saints and symbolic figures may also be depicted.'

I'll let the pictures do the talking here!

Our final stop of the day was at the tulip fields of La Torche and we even took a mini-train to travel around the vast fields.

We were greeted by this huge representation of St George's Chapel, Windsor, created with flower petals
Was this a Brexit statement by the tulip bulb producers?
Afternoon tea is always like this in our house!
The tulip fields were slightly past their best...

...but what an array of colours.

Sorry this isn't smellevisiom, you'll have to imagine the heavy scent of all these hyacinths.
A final thought for the workers...
...in back-breaking conditions.

Audierne & la Chapelle de Languidou

We're now on our way back to La Tranche, but there are still many places to visit. Firstly Audierne.

Nestled beautifully on the Goyen estuary, to the south of the Crozon peninsula...
..with its impressive church (Saint-Raymonde)...
...but hard to get into full frame!
These flowers are everywhere in the walls. I know my expert bloggees  will let me know!
As you know, I like a good reflection!
Picnic stop at Le Gored near Plozévet. What a view!
Out of the blue (literally!) we came across La Chapelle de Languidou...
...and we were very happy we did.
All tumbled down, but so impressive
Imagine this 'rosette' in vibrant colours...
...the blue wasn't bad though.

Douarnenez Plage, la Pointe de Millier & le Moulin de Keriole

Next morning, yet MORE blue skies!

Although not over-impressed by the town of Douarnenez, we enjoyed exploring the beach over the bay...
...a zoom view over its waterfront.
The beach itself was quite exotic...
...caves & cliffs to explore.

Later, a lovely walk to la Pointe de Millier...
...with its lighthouse on the cliff-edge.

A 'stolen' photo to show where the lamp is!

Just a short walk away is the Moulin de Keriolet...
...its water wheel still working.
Inside, how the mill-owner must have lived...
...and some of the restored machinery.
