Skate & play parks

Forgot to incude these in my last post. I'm sure Alfie & Sacha won't realise!

One evening, walking back from the Starfish (just to complete my 10,000 steps obviously) what should I see but the pirate ship has gone in the youngsters' playpark
All is not lost: a couple of days later, some new equipment being hoisted into place

Plus they've been clearing up the land around the skatepark...

...and now there are new plantations, hopefully more to come.

Meanwhile the playpark is looking more and more tempting for little ones

All change!

I don't remember a start of season with so many changes. Everywhere you go white vans are lined up, workers rushing to get everything ready for the new season. Easter is just around the corner!

L'Avenue de la Plage has been in disarray for months...

...but new pavements and a shiny coat of tarmac bring back a sense of order.
As for the square by Le Pavillon...
...it's all looking very promising.
L'Étage has got a new look...
...perhaps you can spot Nico & Eliott here.
Re-opening night and everyone is impressed
Le Rêve is nearly there, balustrades now completed and there's even a show apartment to be visited
Brand new for 2019: L'Antre 2, a large surface restaurant just before the butcher's...
...and a sneak preview inside.
The kebab shop opposite Le Blue Mob has gone...
...to be replaced by Le Cosy, one half tapas bar, one half snacks. It's the new venture from the old bakers next to L'Étage.
Even Fafa's getting in on the act with his brand new bar...
Young friend Séb has just taken over the local pizza takeaway...

...with opening night last weekend.
Yummy!
...and you can guess who made and decorated these sandcastles in front of his bar (thanks to the waterboard who seem to be digging up everywhere)!

Misty jetty & La Faute/L'Aiguillon

These photos were taken just a few days apart: the weather can change so quickly around here!

Nadine & Simon were still around for this misty morning...

...and a VERY low tide.

Later that same day here'a a view from near Sainte-Anne!
Le Lay estuary where the storm & sea surge claimed so many lives in 2010
The mud banks at low tide are amazing (and these are fishing vessels moored up in the middle of the river)
The walk along the levée that was breached in 2010...
...the condemned campsite now becoming a very exciting play and skatepark.
A quick walk to the beach and the mussel 'bouchots' making their twice-daily appearance above water

The Alfie, Sacha & Betty show

It's not often that the three cousins get together and (most of the time) they get along really well. Betty certainly knows how to stand her ground with the two boisterous boys!

Alfie & Sacha are definitely carnivores (Betty too)!
A loving during-lunch hug
Found these surfer dudes posing (Tonton/Papa Matt to the right)
Betty  showing off her walking skills, Maman Nadine close to hand
Meanwhile Papy gets in on the act with the two ruffians...
...who had just been playing on the pirate ship.

I told you Betty can give as much as she gets both at home...
...and at the Starfish.

Two cheeky chappy shots to finish
