15th August

15th August is a national holiday in France celebrating the Assumption. Here in La Tranche it means even more crowds, good takings in the shops, restaurants and bars and a free firework display after dark. Once again the display was without music and I really can't understand why the town no longer has a soundtrack to these displays, as it makes them all the more dramatic and enjoyable.

That aside, the fireworks were magnificent!
