Saltaire Festival & St David's Ruin

It only takes us about twenty minutes to walk down to Robert's Park at Saltaire (a bit longer to walk back admittedly)! It was the Saltaire Festival the first weekend we were back in West Yorkshire and we enjoyed time there both on Saturday and Sunday. It was great bumping into so many people we knew, not to mention the amazing choice of local beers, of course!

I've purloined the first couple of photos: that's Salt's Mill in the background

As you can see it gets pretty busy
On Bank Holidays and some weekends there's the enthusiast-run Tramway. One day we were walking down alongside the track and one of the trams started moving - they were doing some maintenance work!
On my birthday Phil decided to show us St David's Ruin, a folly built by the Ferrand family but now hidden by trees

It's situated in Cottingley Woods, on the way to Harden. It's amazing what you can discover after living in the area for over 35 years!
