Yes, the first fire of the season!

It was good to have Matt & Phil here for a week, Phil flying out (don't worry, bargain rate as always!) for my and Matt's birthdays. I think the first photo shows a Masterclass. Phil's playing Cédric's acoustic bass, a beautiful guitar, which Cédric has lent to Phil a couple of times now.

And on to their departure in Matt's 'new' car: it has a good history, bought new by Jean & Monique, then on to Loulou & Sylvie, and now Matt's. He is very happy with his new 'wheels'. Phil is now back at Uni in London and Matt is running riot (hopefully!) in B-Town, even cooking a curry for his mates last weekend. Has the Shama (our favourite B-Town Asian restaurant) closed, I wonder? Rumour has it that it is moving....

Now look what the postman brought one morning! Yes, a pack of birthday Shreddies from our Eccles friends, Jeanne & Hugh. We're hoping they're going to come and visit us in January to sample La Tranche in the Winter. Get it booked!

Finally, yes we couldn't resist any longer (it WAS cold last Saturday!!): our first fire of the season. It has to be said that we haven't had a fire since as the weather has cheered up, thank goodness.!
