Journey to the Lake District

This last couple of years we have gone a bit digital at Christmas and bought our crew vouchers/tickets etc. This time we were able to share our gift to Nad & Si and Phil: a weekend at Centre Parcs in the Lake District.

The traditional mug of tea and a bacon butty at the old bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale. As good as ever!
Obviously my eyes were on the M6 traffic but my photographic friend took a few moving shots

Arriving in the area a little early we decided to visit Penrith which was new to both of us
The ruins of Penrith Castle were very interesting in red stone

There's a little bit of history here: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/penrith-castle/history/

A very pleasant way to spend some time...
