It’s now 21st August, Nadine, Alfie & Betty having left us rather abruptly a few days earlier with news of quarantine back in the UK. But summer continues in La Tranche and we have the spectacle of very high and low tides.
And I don't remember seeing the tide quite as high as this...
...to the left of the jetty the sea is right up to the dunes.
A few hours later and it's time for the low tide...
...the jetty in all its splendour...
...and the town in the distance.
Meanwhile the boats are stranded awaiting the return of the sea.
