A week in Brittany: Quimperlé

Oops, I forgot about our stop at Quimperlé on our way to Cécile & Arnaud's for their house-warming at Larmor-Barden (more next time).

We were very impressed with the town with its friendly people and interesting architecture. Well worth another visit, I think.

The small brick market provided us with our lunch

Le Pont Fleuri (The Floral Bridge)...

...watched over by one of the town's famous sons, Théodore Hersart, a 19th century poet and author, and promoter of Breton culture
The Sainte-Croix church is circular
with the original convent and cloisters now part of the police station.
Inside the church the nave was raised above a crypt
containing artifacts and this beautiful 'Mise au Tombeau' (Entombment of Christ) that we saw in several churches in Brittany.
